Dear reader,
You probably didn’t grow up dreaming of building compliance technology. Well, neither did we. Our childhood aspirations included becoming a skateboarder, a mechanic, and a receptionist. But somewhere along the way, we traded those dreams for something just as interesting: building technology that solves real, complex problems.
The business identity space is messy. When we joined Duna, it was clear we found a career-defining opportunity and a vision to build something radically different. Large, successful companies have tried to solve its problems before, yet still fall short. And this isn't just a technological problem. It's a behavioral problem too. Business identity today is still rooted in paper trails and manual review. For us, that felt like an invitation.
The idea of spending every day building was the real draw. No busywork or politics. Only driven colleagues setting out to solve hard problems together. After we built the foundations for our product, companies like Plaid and bol started to use our software every day. It's genuinely exciting to see your work come to life so quickly.
One thing we love about building identity infrastructure is that it’s fundamentally about trust. That brings responsibility, but also serious intellectual challenge. The stakes are high: our product sits at the heart of our customers’ operations. It touches their revenue, regulatory posture, and day-to-day workflows. If we get it right, we help them grow faster, operate smarter, and stay compliant. If we get it wrong, the consequences are as real. That’s why every detail matters.
Alongside our product vision, we’re just as intentional about shaping Duna’s engineering culture. We are builders at heart. Over 80% of our time is spent doing exactly that. We don’t accept overhead or distraction as inevitable. Instead, we put in the work to remove obstacles so we can stay focused on solving hard problems and shipping continuously.
We want Duna to be the place where people can do their best work. That’s why we treat growth as a team sport. Talent matters, but brilliance on its own doesn’t scale. Collaboration does.
